Veteran consulting agencies are on the rise. With the VA constantly turning veterans down for their VA disability benefits, more veterans are seeking outside guidance. Although these paid services have helped thousands of veterans, many are still skeptical- reasonably so! There is always the possibility of running into a scam when you’re searching for services on the internet. Today, we sat down with Brandon Stevens, a United States Marine Corps veteran and the owner of Veteran Adviser Consulting. We covered all of the burning questions veterans have when looking to hire a service like the one Brandon and his team provide.
What was the motivation behind starting your business?
I was given an opportunity to make a living while helping people in the process. The service we provide changes lives. I feel so fortunate to be able to help our country’s Veterans get the benefits they deserve; seeing the result is all the motivation I needed. Every successful increase just drives me and my team to do more.
What are disabled veterans most skeptical about when they are looking to sign on as a client of yours?
Everyone who engages in anything online or over the phone that involves money has a similar fear, “Is this a scam?” What separates us from most companies of our kind is we fully guarantee our service; the final fee is not due until we get the job done. If you don’t get an increase, you don’t pay. It’s as simple as that.
With so many scams out there, how do you prove to your clients that your company is credible?
Most of our business comes from word of mouth. Successful clients have told everyone they know about us and it’s the reason we’ve grown so fast. We’re currently working on building our social media pages and getting reviews submitted on multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Google, Yelp, etc.
One of the frustrations disabled veterans have with services similar to yours is not knowing the final price they will owe when their increase is obtained. Why are you unable to give quotes right away. How does your company charge the veterans that hire you to work on their claims?
Every case is unique; there are multiple ways to achieve the desired result and we calculate which route gives our clients the highest possible chance of success to obtain their personal increase. There are a lot of variables in place, but my team is excellent at explaining the process and end fees as total transparency is important to us, and we want our clients to feel as comfortable as possible.
You say a veteran’s rating will never be in jeopardy of decreasing with your services. How can you be sure of that?
After the evaluation with our network provider, we look at the final paperwork and with the help of our expert raters, we make sure what is being submitted is going to achieve the desired result. We would not submit anything that could decrease a client’s overall disability rating or jeopardize their benefits.
Many veterans are skeptical about the services you provide because they don’t want to pay for what they deserve. What is your response when a veteran says they don’t want to sign on with you because they don’t want to pay a fee?
This is a common issue that prevents people from wanting to move forward. There are free services to help people submit claims BUT that’s all they do is help submit the claim. The service our company provides is the updated medical evidence submitted along with the claim. This allows the VA to give an increase without the Veteran having to go to contracted VA medical exams. We get the documentation ready and have the Veteran re-evaluated with Veteran-friendly doctors that are not affiliated with the VA. Then they submit the claim with the Disability Benefits Questionnaires signed by the doctor. The VA must, by law, rate the Veteran based on this new medical evidence.
Upon increase, we charge a fee. As a personalized, exclusive service we handle everything from start to finish. Our service is as clean and professional as they come. We have an amazing team of Raters, many of which used to work for the VA. If you want help getting something you need, paying experts to handle it for you is your best bet. Most people have tried other avenues, and most are unsuccessful. The guarantee of our service helps to ease a lot of clients’ minds; our Veterans have everything to gain and nothing to lose by giving us a shot.
Why should a veteran hire you to work on their claim as opposed to seeking free help from the DAV or VSO?
I can’t comment on specific organizations. But I will say this: Just about all the “free” organizations are funded and paid for by the VA themselves so that means they must do and say whatever the VA tells them to. The VA is very ungenerous about granting people increases and higher ratings, why would you go to an organization to help fight your case that is funded by the Administration you need help against? Some people do end up getting some help, but in my experience, the majority do not end up getting the help they need and deserve when they decide to go that route.
What sets you apart from other companies that provide the same services?
Our success rate is incredible, above 95%. We also take great pride in our customer service, many of us here in the company are Veterans ourselves. We even have people here that are former clients of our service. We’re very relatable and we understand what the Veterans are going through while they go through the process of increasing their disability ratings.
As a veteran yourself, what is the most rewarding part of your job?
Being a Veteran myself, I just want to help my fellow brothers and sisters that served. My team and I are very passionate about getting our clients what they deserve. Military Veterans served their country and when doing so the majority sustained various injuries or illnesses that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Our country and government have provided funding to compensate for these disabilities and we’re here to make sure our clients get the deserved amount of compensation they are entitled to.
How can people get ahold of you or your team if they are looking to increase their VA disability rating?
We have our phone number listed on our social media channels and website. However, we’re talking to clients on and off throughout the entire day. With that being said, the surest way to get in touch would be to head to our website, fill out the form, and we’ll reach out to you as soon as possible.
