On Monday, October 4th, China flew 52 fighter planes toward Taiwan, the largest show of force in history. This action proceeds the three days of continued military harassment against Taiwan.
According to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense, the Chinese air fleet consisted of 34 J-16 fighter jets and 12 H-6 bombers, any other aircraft. As a result, the Taiwanese air force quickly crewed their jets and monitored the movement of the Chinese fleet headed towards them.
Largest Show Of Force
Last Friday, China’s National Day, the People’s Liberation Army sent 38 warplanes to aggravate Taiwan. On Saturday, they sent 39 warplanes, and on Sunday, they sent an additional 16 planes.
The number of flights into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone prompted a statement from the US State Department. Consequently, the spokesperson, Ned Price, warned that China’s activity risks miscalculation and undermines regional peace and stability.
“We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic, and economic pressure and coercion against Taiwan,” the statement said.
